Secret Code Empty Secret Code

You. Guys. Kevin and Eric have a secret cod about something and I need YOU to help me figure it out

CLUES:
1. They say they "read" "books" (those to words obviously stand for something else.)
2. Kevin has a wider choice of "books", regardless of the situation.
3. Their favorite "book" changes depending on their mood
4. They have "read" about the same amount of "books"
5. It would really suck if we found out.
